Elsie Department Store visit and new baby sandals in progress!

Today I finally managed to visit a "proper" store that sells yarn.. According to prettylittlethingsinabox, they are one of the long surviving Craft shop in the North of Singapore which sells yarns and needle work items.

To be honest, I was rather disappointed with the selection of yarn there. Perhaps it was because the bulk of the yarn I saw was Crown brand. I already have quite a number of crown brand yarn.

I asked if they have any yarn that is suitable for making baby items and the uncle showed one a brand called GEMS.

I tried to Google it's origin but can't seem to find it.

I didn't quite like the colours that were available so I just picked 3 of the one I thought were nicest.

Although there weren't a lot of yarn, I managed to find lots of buttons!! Buttons and eyes.. But eyes not very nice also. Baaaaah..

Check out my collection of buttons and eyes! (Including the ones from Daiso)

Hope to use them soon!

I'm currently working on this pattern here

Just completed the soles after 2 days -_-

Need more time!! More me-time!!
I foresee busier days ahead >.<

Till then.. Counting down to a brand new year ahead! I'm starting to mentally note down the TO-DO list of projects that I wana complete for the new year :)

And also...waiting patiently for the arrival of my parcel!!! Wheeeeee..

I am a yarn hoarder

I know that I have been buying yarn little by little...but I didn't realize how many I have accumulated. Seeing bags and bags of yarn makes me...happy :D
Literally bagSful of yarn. I didn't really know what colours I have and didn't have so...

Tadah!! There you have it...my secret stash.. Actually it's not really THAT many right..considering that it's only 4 brands in there, if you consider Daiso yarn as a brand. Those are the first yarn I got my hands on..followed by Crown, then the bamboo cotton one from spotlight and last to join my pile was Sirdar snuggly.
And more here..courtesy of my mum. I always pester her to buy yarn for me.

Hope to add on more from other brands..like red heart...or lion brand..Caron etc

Think I better clear out my toyogo box to store all these in a proper place before they get mouldy. Haha

I know what I want for Christmas, new year and my birthday! Yarn yarn and more yarn! Hooks hooks and more hooks!

Actually I fell in love with a hook case..but I can't seem to find it on its own.
So pretty right.. It's by clover..and it comes with the hooks that I probably will have duplicated coz I've already ordered the clover armour. :(
Maybe IF I don't like the clover armour, I'll consider getting this!! Hahaha

There..wish list for the new year :)

Welcome to SAHMigurumi

Well well..it's been a horrendously long time since I've blogged.. Any ME-time is a luxury now since I became a stay-at-home-mother (SAHM) of 2 beautiful girls. Recently I picked up crocheting since I was rather confined to the house. Truth be told, I didn't expect myself to become 'hooked' to it literally. Haha from a hook bowler to crochet hooks..I can't run away from being a 'hooker' ha! And actually, I became curious about crocheting because of the owl hats that I bought for Melissa's photoshoot. Even though I ordered for 0-3months, they still turned out too big. Hence, I decided to make one myself! But till date, I'm still not successful. Haha because I believe I don't have the right yarn and hook size.

I wanted to go into this hobby properly but till date, I haven visited the 'garden of eden' - golden dragon..or even spotlight! I've only been to daiso and a neighbourhood shop to purchase hooks and acrylic yarn. The only decent yarn I have are 3 balls of bamboo cotton that I pestered Mummy to buy for me. And only today did I get to sneak out to daiso again to buy batting for my latest project - the sleeping totoro!

Anyway, I decided to start this blog (SAHM+amigurumi= SAHMgurumi :D)  to sort of keep track of my amigurumi journey, as well as to pool together the online resources that I've gathered. So here I go..one stitch at a time! Hopefully as I progress up the learning curve, I might one day be able to design and create my own amigurumi.

To commemorate the birth of this blog, I bought myself the clover amour crochet hooks! :D really excited and looking forward to receiving them!!

Till then, happy knots!
